For The Love of LV

I am a huge fan of Louis Vuitton. No, not as a luxury status symbol, for which many have become accustomed. For me, Louis Vuitton stands for a bygone era of class, simplistic luxury; a legendary French brand full of mystery and rich in history.  So it is with no wonder that I am absolutely thrilled that a new book has emerged, focused more on the history of the brand.
Louis Vuitton City Bags: A Natural History -The book consist of 400 pages with 500 full color images, including specific drawings, ad campaigns and archive documents.  Unlike their previous editions, this highlights detailed information and an in depth  history of Louis Vuitton.

I've got my eye on the Collectors Boxed Edition.  I'm expecting the presentation of this book to be everything, and at the look of it, it is.  Printed in Italy, this edition is presented in a canvas clamshell with marble paper and a set of eleven illustrated plates.

Collectors Edition available on Louis Vuitton website $170

If you are looking to obtain the book strictly for reference, you may want to purchase the standard edition, which will be distributed by Rizzoli, Amazon and the like.

Prices ranged from $55-$85 respectively.
Louis Vuitton City Bags: A Natural History Written by Jean-Claude Kaufmann, Ian Luna, Florence Muller, Mariko Nishitani and Colombe Pringle.  Release date: October 15, 2013

Tell me what you think?  Is this one of the must-haves for your growing fashion library?
